Step by Step Process to Change WIFI Password

Kindly note that here we are going to share mostly used WIFI Router Password change. Make sure you have to take this guide following your WIFI password. Also, make sure that your router device should be connected with your Laptop or PC via Ethernet Connection.

Router Device: TP-LINK

For the Users who are using the TP-LINK router, follow the below guide to change the WIFI Password.

  1. First of all, Open Browser into your Device.
  2. Enter the default IP Address: 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.1.1
  3. You will reach to the Admin Panel. Now enter the default Username and Password. (Find it from Above Table)

  1. Now your dashboard will open. Navigate the Below Option:

WireLess >> Wireless Security

Then Select

WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

  1. It will generate a Blank box for entering the password. Enter your preferred password.
  2. Now save the data and reboot the router from the site.
  3. That’s it. You have successfully changed the WIFI Password in the TP-LINK router.

Router Device: D-LINK

For the User who is using D-LINK router and would like to change the default Wi-Fi password then please follow the below step by step process. For D-LINK user there are 2 methods to change the WIFI password.

Method: -1

  1. First of all, open the web browser in your Laptop or PC.
  2. Enter the web address: – http://dlinkrouter or http://dlinkrouter.local or http://192.168.0.1

  1. It will open the Login page. Use the login credentials from the above-mentioned table and open the dashboard. 
  2. Now in the Menu bar click on the “Set-up” button and click on the “Wireless setting” as shown in the below image.
  3. From the above image, click on the “Manual Wireless Network Setup”
  4. Now go below to the “Wireless Security Mode” where you will find the place to enter pre-shared key option as shown in below Image.
  5. Enter your new password and click on the save button and reboot the router. Your new password will be saved for further usage.

Method:2-

In this method, you must have to register your D-LINK router with the mydlink portal at eu.mydlink.com. If you already have registered then follow the below steps to change the wifi password.

  1. Open the web browser and navigate the web address into the address bar: https://eu.mydlink.com

  1. Now log in with your login credentials which you already have while registering at mydlink website.

  1. Mostly it Is used to handle multiple routers with a single platform. At the mydlink dashboard navigate your existing router and open the setting as shown in the below image.

  1. Dropdown the Basic setting and there you can see the router existing password over there. Edit it and enter your new password.
  2. After entering the new password click on the “Apply” button and reboot the router to save the new password. 
  3. After getting a rebooted router, your new password will be saved for further Login at the router.
