Microsoft is already pushing out update KB5013943, which includes several updates, security patches, and changes for computers running the initial edition of Windows 11.

According to the changelogs, the update KB5013943 increases the version number to build 22000.675 and includes the fixes and enhancements previously accessible with the April 25 update preview KBKB5012643, as well as additional security fixes and other issues.

You can manually install the May 2022 update from the Microsoft Update Catalog website if you choose.

Update KB5013943 fixes and changes for Windows 11

These are the fixes and new features available with the latest Patch Tuesday update of Windows 11:

  • Fixes a known issue that may cause problems with or prevent the opening of some.NET
  • Framework 3.5 apps. Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow
  • Foundation (WWF) components are used by the impacted programmes in the.NET Framework 3.5.
  • Fixes a known problem where your device’s screen may flicker if you start it in Safe Mode. File
  • Explorer, the Start menu, and the taskbar, which all rely on explorer.exe, may be affected and appear unstable.
  • Improved the serviceability of Windows’ Secure Boot component.
  • After installing some MSIX apps, the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSvc) will cease operating.
  • This was fixed.
  • Fixed a race issue that could trigger a stop error early in the starting process.
  • Updated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) capabilities that support self-deployment and pre-provisioning scenarios have been added to the Autopilot client.
  • For hybrid Azure AD-joined Autopilot scenarios, the timeout for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) registration has been increased from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. This also fixes a race issue that triggers a timeout exception.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the OS to take 40 minutes to start up.
  • A memory leak issue that affects Windows systems that are in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week has been resolved.
  • By restricting the usage of the connection-specific DNS Suffix Search List, an issue with the
  • Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) option 119 (Domain Search List) was fixed.
  • In Microsoft Edge IE mode, an issue with the Title attribute was fixed.
  • On Windows Enterprise editions that were upgraded to Enterprise utilising Azure AD-joined subscription entitlement, mobile device management (MDM) policies were not authorised.
  • A bug that caused video subtitles to be partially cut off has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue when video subtitles were misaligned.
  • The error “0xc0030009 (RPC NT NULL REF POINTER)” has been fixed, which causes Kerberos authentication to fail. This happens when a client system tries to connect to another machine using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) while Remote Credential Guard is active.
  • After a service update, Windows would go into BitLocker recovery mode. This was fixed.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Endorsement Key (EK) certificate from being retrieved from the TPM device.
  • A bug was fixed that caused the security element of a Group Policy to fail to copy to a machine.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Microsoft RDP Client Control, version 11 and higher, from being instantiated inside a Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) dialogue.
  • The temperature was displayed on top of the weather symbol on the taskbar.
On a maximised app window, fixed a problem that prevented you from using the minimise, maximise, and close buttons. Because the Notification Center remains the input focus, this problem happens.
  • When using Netdom.exe or the Active Directory Domains and Trusts snap-in to list or alter name suffixes routing, an issue was fixed. These procedures could go wrong. “Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service,” says the error notice. After implementing the January 2022 security update on the principal domain controller emulator, this problem appears (PDCe).
  • Fixed an issue where the root domain’s principal domain controller (PDC) generated warning and error events in the System log. This problem happens when the PDC scans outgoing-only trusts erroneously.
  • When mapping a network disc to a Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) share, an issue was fixed. You are unable to access that network drive after restarting the operating system.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a 13A or C2 error when using an SMB multichannel connection.
  • When a Client-Side Caching (CSC) cleanup procedure fails to delete a resource that was produced, the pool is damaged.
  • Fixed an issue that may cause the server to lock up if the nonpaged pool grew too large and consumed all available memory. When you try to fix the damage after a restart, the same problem happens.
  • Reduced resource contention overhead in high input/output operations per second (IOPS) settings when multiple threads compete for a single file.
